About the IPv6 Day

The IPv6 Day web site represents a celebration of a key IETF milestone and a reminder about the 6Bone phase-out plan stated in RFC3701.

ISOC, AfriNIC, APNIC, ARIN, LACNIC, RIPE NCC, ICANN/IANA, The IPv6 Portal and other organizations, join together in order to celebrate this milestone.

Many end-users and organisations already moved into production space in the last years, demonstrating that IPv6 is a mature protocol.

The IPv6 Portal will like also to encourage the service providers to make sure that IPv6 is considered in their deployment plans.
